Request: Imagine being worried that Matt still has feelings for Rebekah but he doesn’t you’re just paranoid because you aren’t used to someone who actually likes you that long so he ends up proving to you that you’re the only girl he wants.
You didn’t often have people around who cared, when Matt came along it was a shock and you thought that it was too good to be true and that seemed to be proved when Rebekah trailed behind, she seemed to be so much better for him, prettier and more confidant and just all around better than you, somehow Matt spent more time with you and eventually asked you to be his girl. You were happy for a time but then Rebekah showed up at the Grill again and you started to become paranoid, as mentioned before people didn’t care for you the way that Matt did.
You would often find yourself sitting at the other end of the bar watching them have an animated conversation about God knows what and you sat alone nursing a drink. You decided today however you’d just get up and go home. You put the money on the bar under your cup before getting up beginning to walk out of the Grill. “(Y/N)!” Matt called out and you looked back at him forcing a smile. “Where are you going?” “Home.” You answered softly. “I thought I’d wait for you there.” “Why? You always wait here.” He frowned. “I don’t know… Just feel like it I guess.” You mumbled, he pulled you to quiet corner brushing your hair out of your face. “What’s going on?” He asked ducking down to try and make eye contact with you. “Nothing.” You answered feeling like a cornered animal. “(Y/N)…” He warned and you looked at him and then back at Rebekah who was staring at the both of you. Matt followed your eyes and he nodded. “You’re worried about her?” “I’m fine Matt.” You answered firmer this time and he knew he hit the nail right on the head. “You don’t have to worry bout her she’s only an old friend,” Matt explained. “Okay.” You mumbled. “Look I have to go and you should get back to work before you get fired.” You pushed passed Matt to get to the door, Matt looked over at the bar and Rebekah waved him over to come join her. Matt looked at the door that you had exited and sighed, threw off the apron and dashed for the door, he quickly saw you walking down the road and easily catching up with you, he grabbed your arm turning you and wrapping an arm around your waist to stop you from running off again. “I really need for you to understand that she’s just a friend and that you’re my No.1 girl okay, I love the way you (E/C) eyes sparkle and I love having to brush your hair away from you face to look at you properly and I love that I don’t have to watch out for you because you can protect yourself, I want you and you have to let me.” “You scare me.” You finally admitted and he frowned attempting to step back but you grabbed his wrist. “You care for me more than most people and one day it could all be gone and there’s nothing I can do about it.” “I’m not going anywhere.” He mumbled pulling you into his chest and resting his chin on yours “I promise.” “You promise?” You asked. “I promise.” He confirmed kissing the top of your head.
